Century Sheet Metal is entering a new chapter while remaining true to the values that have defined the company for nearly 50 years. Now under the leadership of the third generation of the Patterson family, Century continues the legacy established by its founder and strengthened over decades of dedicated family ownership.

Century Sheet Metal’s leadership has changed, however, its commitment to quality craftsmanship, trusted relationships, and exceptional service remains the same.

Where Did Century Sheet Metal Begin?

Family has always been the foundation of Century Sheet Metal. Nearly five decades ago, the company’s founder, Charles Patterson Jr., built the business on a simple mission: deliver quality work, stand behind every project, and treat customers with honesty and respect. Those principles became the cornerstone of the company and continue to guide every decision today.

After the founder’s retirement, leadership transitioned to his son, Charles Patterson III. He dedicated his career to growing Century Sheet Metal while preserving the reputation the company had earned throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. During that time, his son, Charles Patterson IV (also known as Chaz), worked alongside him, learning every aspect of the business. Over the past 25 years, Chaz has built lasting customer relationships, led countless projects and gained the hands-on experience that prepared him to lead the company into its next generation.

In November 2025, Charles Patterson III passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy that extends far beyond sheet metal fabrication and installation. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, integrity and commitment to the people who placed their trust in Century Sheet Metal. His influence continues to shape the company’s culture and values.

Who Is Leading Century Sheet Metal Today?

Today, Chaz Patterson serves as President, while his sister, Chelsea Kwolek, serves as Vice President. After a 13-year career in higher education, Chelsea joined Century Sheet Metal following her father’s passing to help lead the business, oversee operations, strengthen customer relationships and support the company’s continued growth.

Chelsea brings extensive experience in operations, leadership and business administration. She earned her master’s degree with a 4.0 GPA and graduated as a Distinguished Scholar, experience she now applies to helping Century Sheet Metal grow strategically while maintaining the company’s family-first values.

Together, Chaz and Chelsea bring complementary strengths to the business, combining decades of hands-on industry expertise with modern business leadership and operational experience.

Century Sheet Metal remains a family-owned and operated company dedicated to quality, reliability and treating every project with the same level of care that has defined the business for generations.

What Changes at Century Sheet Metal Going Forward?

While Century Sheet Metal’s foundation remains unchanged, its future is focused on growth and innovation. The new leadership team is committed to bringing Century into this century, modernizing the business while preserving everything that has made it successful for nearly 50 years. That includes investing in new technology, streamlining operations and creating a better experience for customers from the first phone call to project completion.

Their Uncle, James Patterson, still remains in the shop creating customized sheet metal and ductwork for our customers, and their dad’s “right hand man” at Century Sheet Metal for about 40 years, Tom Yates, is still here but will be retiring soon. Century Sheet Metal will forever be grateful for what these men have done for the company in the past, present, and future.

The company has also welcomed back a familiar face. Pamela Macari has joined Century Sheet Metal as Bookkeeper. With bookkeeping experience dating back to 1991, including 21 years with Century Sheet Metal, she brings invaluable knowledge of the business and helps ensure the company continues to operate with the same care and attention to detail that customers have come to expect.

As Century approaches its 50th anniversary, the goal is simple: honor the past while building an even stronger future. By combining decades of experience with new ideas, modern technology and a continued investment in people, Century Sheet Metal is positioning itself to become bigger, stronger and better than ever.
